 Project Duration and Funding Sources.

The project is currently designed to run for 18 months. It is funded by both the Republic of Kazakhstan and a grant from UNDP. The project is also supported by active participation of the Kazakh Red Cross Society and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

 The careful elaboration of the National Plan, based on a thorough analysis of existing realities will likely identify areas of priority concern which exceed the Republic's ability to support items of funding, equipment, and expertise. The working group, in conjunction with UNDP and other international bodies will develop specific, prioritized proposals for the realization of projects for preparedness for natural disasters in accordance with the National Preparedness Plan.
